Maxzam Games ("we", "us") makes and publishes video games. This policy explains what information we collect through maxzam.com and our games, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect

  • Email address, if you give it to us. When you sign up for updates or email us, we get your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply or to send the updates you asked for.
  • Basic server logs. Like nearly every website, our host automatically records technical details of each visit, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure and are deleted on a regular schedule.
  • Game saves in your browser. Playable demos on this site store save data and settings in your own browser's storage. That data stays on your device; we don't receive it. Clearing your browser data deletes it.

We don't sell your information, we don't use advertising trackers, and we don't create accounts for you.

Cookies and third parties

The site doesn't set tracking cookies. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address. SeeGoogle's privacy policy.

When our games are sold or played on other platforms, such as Steam, those platforms handle purchases and accounts under their own privacy policies.

If we start using an email newsletter service or privacy-friendly analytics, we'll name them here.

Your choices and rights

  • Every update email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to be removed.
  • You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@maxzam.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
  • Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or California law), you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

We keep the little information we have only as long as we need it, and we take reasonable steps to protect it. No system is perfectly secure, though, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. For significant changes we'll tell people on our mailing list.
